Henry Mercer's house. Very eccentric, 5 libraries so that Mercer could always study with the sun coming in his window. Reservations suggested.

Mercer Museum: Pine St., Doylestown, Phone: 215-345-0210.
Mercer saved all the hand tools he thought would disappear with the industrial revolution. There are many rooms each representing a craft. There are whale boats and carriages hanging from the ceiling.

Moravian Pottery and Tile Works: 130 Swamp Rd., Doylestown 215-345-6722.
Decorative tiles and mosaics. Ordinal molds are still used to make tiles and can be bought in the tile shop.

Washington Crossing Historic Park: Routes 32 and 532. Phone:215-493-4076.

Unique family playpark for kids ages 3-13 with 40 different activities.

New Hope: Is a village of artistic, antiques, and good places to eat. 12 miles away from the Hostel ------ a nice bike ride.

Canal Path: There is a fifty mile canal path on both sides of the Delaware River that make for wonderful biking and walking.

Bowman Hill Tower and Wildflower Preserve. Historic tower and wild flower preserve. Very beautiful in the spring. Open year around.
